Suffice to say......a big thanks for all your encouraging comments, it makes it worthwhile doing a TR!!
Day 21 (Nov 20th)We had to wait to let the maid in this morning, so we were a little later than normal getting to the gate.
However, as it was a coolish cloudy morning, we still hoped to see plenty of game.
First on the list near the gate was a cute little Steenie, who actually stood her ground, and didn't bolt off like they ususally do!!!
Then we saw a few giraffe, who were all mixed up with each other!! They looked very comical we thought!!
Next we saw some zebbies near Masorini, and more baby Impalas.......so cute.
Along the H9 we saw a sub-adult male, zonked out after presumably a large breakfast............he was totally oblivious to us. We looked around, but could see no other lions nearby (though I don't doubt if we had got out of our car, we would soon have found them.)
No sign of Desi again today...........maybe he went on his holidays.
Nhlanganini delivered big time.............a large herd of Ellies, Hippo, Waterbuck, a huge Croc, and several Buffalo.
Then it was back home via the S132 and S131.............which delivered no game, but some lovely birds, though most of them did not pose for me to take any kiekies!!!!!
Here are some of the birds we saw............Lilac Breasted Roller, European Bee-Eater, Grey Hornbill, Yellow Hornbill, Martial Eagle, Sabota Lark and Jacobin Cuckoo.
I can't wait to see some of my favourite summer visitors...........European Roller, Carmine Bee-Eater, and of course my favourite...........The Woody Kingfisher. Each time we go to Letaba we listen out, but so far no luck, though any day now we will be lucky, I'm sure!!
Now home relaxing (again I hear you say!!)
Lunch was a cuppa soup, and dinner is simple tonight...........lovely crispy, thick, back bacon, new potatoes and mushrooms.!!
The Amarula bottle is almost empty, and with a very special guest arriving soon, we had better stock up soon!!
To be continued.................
