BT - Can you comment further on the activity at LP ? Looks like there was a lot of weaver nest-building activity . Were the Goliath Herons still present ? Any other nesting activity besides the weavers ? Would appreciate any further comments you might have .

Highbury, when we visit LP one November and December we saw

Green-backed Heron
a Leopard
Malachite
Pied
Grey Heron
Goliath
African Jacana to mention a few

LP never stop to produce superb sightings

and African Darter at the famous perch

Those pictures were taken on 4 November but there was plenty of noisy Grey Heron activity with several nests in the trees to the front right of the hide. There were quite a few Masked and Lesser Masked Weavers nests in those trees too.

On my return on 16 & 17 November there were at least 3 Goliath Herons present plus the Grey Herons and the usual Jacanas, Crakes, GB Herons, Malachite, Pied, Woodland and Giant Kingfishers.

I'll be posting some more of my pictures over the next few days.

Jan, you are making this very difficult for me. My next visit will be north, no Lake Panic.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.
