Hi Jan

Looking forward to seeing your images from your latest visit to Kruger. How was the water level at LP, my wife and I are there in two weeks.

JimS, firstly - well spotted sighting and secondly, brilliant pic which just shows one has to very alert and scan every single branch as the 'branch' might move... :D

Jan, welcome back and seemed you enjoyed another wonderful time in Kruger and specially LP.
The closest I saw a Giant Kingfisher was at the Nursery and was quite  when my friends who vist Kruger a month or two ago, showed me GK photos they spotted at LP. :D
You got some great action shots of this lovely birds. Excellent moment captured with reflection in water.
Looking forward to more....

Nice shot of the fish eagle, and thanks for the info on the water level at LP. My wife has just bought a Canon 7D2 and she is chomping at the bit to try it out in Kruger.

I have contact with a photographer in Alaska, he is in Haines at the moment photographing Bald Eagles. The latest count has 3000+ bald eagles over just 5 miles of river. The spawning salmon are so big the eagles can't lift the fish. So he expects lots of air to air combat as the eagles steal from each other.

We hope for a couple of fish eagles at LP or Sunset Dam, oh well, such is life.
