The Pied Kingfishers are always active. They often hunts by hovering over the water before diving and use a perch to eat their catch.

Sometimes the Hippo's give a show. The light was not great but the Kiss made up for a special moment at LP

One other bird always at LP is the Green-backed Heron.Prefers dense vegetation near water and breeds low down in trees.

What lens are you using? That is obviously not a 10-22.... 600?

Tx again for the comments.

I wish I had a 600mm :) ...but most of the images were taken with a 400mm lens

Another resident is the Reed Cormorant.

This one pose on a early cold morning with the sun rising for the perfect back lighting

Image

Often sits with out spread wings in the sun to dry and LP have a perfect perch.
