Great action shot of the Goliath heron, Jan.

I have tried a few times, but one needs to have lots of patience or otherwise your timing must be perfect.

The new bird species, I guess, had probably given the other birdies a scare... :hmz:

Thank for the comments, but still need a ID for the green bird... :?

Decided to visit LP early one morning. Not very active but again saw a beautiful sunrise...

Jan, what are you doing to me.... :hmz:

I love these settings and you have captured it excellently. :cam:
Those early mornings are great times at the lake and one can see how the day slowly starting to get more active, with the Jacanas making their presence known, then the Pied KF's and now and then the hippo grunting.

Another great photo - thank you, Jan.

Thank you Trrp-trrrrrrrr and Kaapsedraai

Agree first light at LP is magic..

Saw for the first time Hippo's mating. You can see the females head under the water and took the image at the right moment with the spray when she came up for air.
I think I captured a really rare moment and sighting. Never seen one before

You have been spot on with capturing 'the moment', Jan :cam: .

It is a great picture of the hippos at 'the Lake' and just love the small ears on the big head and mouth.

Thank you for sharing - candidate for sighting of the month :hmz:

Thanks for sharing.
