LIT how stunning to have that sighting.

Mmh ...The homemade melktert was always delicious, prefer it to prepacked variety but as you say still tasty.

Looking forward to the rest.

Hi Trrp-Trrrrrrr,

This was my first ever LIT sighting. There were many more to come. Stay tuned.

Thanks,

Daron

OK Friends, sorry that I was absent yesterday. I ended up in the Emergency Room with extreme back spasms. After a couple of injections they sent me home to bed, where I have been basically ever since. It is starting to ease up a little so I am praying it is just a little irritation. Three back surgeries over the past two years and I certainly don't want a fourth.....

This next episode is going to contain multiple pictures of the same sighting again. I apologize if you don't like that, but the behavior was so fun to watch that I wanted to share the sequence so you can see it as well.

Day 7 - Part 3 - Splish, Splash, I Was Taking a Bath:

So after our awesome lunch at Tshokwane we were headed back to Satara for our mini meet. We promised Veronica a stop at the Baobab tree as well. We stopped at one of the waterholes and saw a lot of game around. I was watching some Waterbuck sparring when I noticed a lone Elephant bull standing in the middle of the water on the far side of the water. He stood there briefly before he started playing in the water and having an absolute blast.

I will let the pictures tell the story....

As you can see, he rolled around in the mud, then stood up and began swirling the water with his trunk, and then began swishing around with his legs.....

It looked like so much fun. I wanted to get out and join him. I will share a few more in the next episode.

Thanks for following!

Daron

Sorry to hear about your back spasms tedredrum! Hope the injections did their job? :(

These pictures definitely tell a beautiful story of an Ellie enjoying himself in the heat of the day! We also always find them so entertaining!

Looking forward to more please!

Hope the back pain has eased.
The leopard in the tree reminds me of the one I saw at Mopane. Was looking at a bird high up in the tree, when next thing, I saw the leopards tail and the rest was similar to your picture.
Enjoyed the ele.
Regards,
Ad Rem.

I do always love bathing ellies - It is still one of my highlights although seen that already so many times but as you said they always do it as if they have so much fun in doing that like small children

Hopefully your back is a bit better now, Daron :?

Thanks Ad Rem. Those Leopards sure can conceal themselves. When you get a good sighting though there is nothing quite like it.

Hi Pumbaa,

This was our first time seeing an Elephant playing around like that in the water. I agree he was like a little kid. Back is slightly better. Thanks!
