It is always nice to watch the baboons playing in the road, as long as they don't climb on the cars!

great lion sighting - our first proper lion sighting after many rips to knp was very similar = we were in a litle car so when he pased us we were directly eye to eye

Was a little slack but I am back on and enjoying your sightings

Baboons can be an absolute menace, however funny their antics.

Magnificent lion you saw. What a beauty. But why do male lions look so miserable???? I suppose it's a hard life ...

Thank you all so much for sharing in the thrill of seeing that black-maned male

I was shaking so much with excitement that the other 200 photos I took of him were rather blurry
So I'm very glad that at least a few showed how close we were and how handsome he was

Now, could our day possibly get any better!?

Lower Sabie - Lion Day continued...

We drove on in a bit of a daze after seeing that magnificent lion

A kori bustard posed beautifully for us


And a grey lourie that didn't go away



A gorgeous waterbuck was munching away on breakfast



And a cute little giraffe was staying close to mum


Then our second Big 5 of the morning


Followed soon after by our third Big 5 of the morning!!


The young male seemed quite calm but then he turned and stared at us.


When he started waving his ears and trunk at us I knew he was going to charge. And he did!!


Dad floored the Terios and we were away….my goodness what an exciting morning we were having

A moment later we saw a car coming towards us and thought we should warn them about the ellie they would encounter down the road.
As the car pulled up we saw a yellow ribbon and were delighted to meet Nicolette!!

It was indeed our lucky day
Nicolette told us about some lions on the rocks at the Crocodile Bridge river
Could we possibly be that lucky to see more lions this day??
Oh please let them still be there….

On the way we saw this guinea fowl family with a little one trying to keep up the pace, his little legs were all a blur.

But of course, Dad and I were only hoping for one thing - LIONS!!

Like the kori bustard, as the rhinos and elephants....and waterbuck....everything

Three out of five so far that day? Maybe you should
concentrate on finding yourself a leppie and a buff
(I have to start laughing all over again, just mentioning
buff after that episode in Addo! )

Lovely sightings! The baby giraffe is gorgous!

Now, let's hear if you got more lions or not.
But my guess is, you will.
