Got 4 lifers Salamanda

Red Headed Weaver
Yellow Throated Longclaw
Square Tailed Nightjar
Retz Helmet-shrike

Most of the Summer migrants are back with the exception of any Woodland Kingfishers.

Saw plenty of Diderick, Leveilant and Red Chested Cuckoo. Spotted Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Red Backed Shrike, Lesser Grey Shrike, Yellow Billed Stork,

Some other highlights are Greater Painted Snipe, Martial Eagle, White Crowned Lapwing, Common and Wood Sandpipers, Grey Headed Bush-Shrike, Orange Breasted Bush-Shrike, White Crested Helmet-Shrike, White Browed Robin-Chat, White Throated Robin-Chat, Verraux's Eagle Owl, Mocking Clif chat, Small Button Quail, Fiery Necked Nightjar, Wahlbergs Eagle, Brown Snake Eagle, African Harrier-Hawk, Lappet Faced Vulture, Sadle Billed Stork....

Obviously the usual hornbills, waxbills, cisitocola's, puffback's, batis etc species were plentiful.

Quite a bit of rain fell in the Croc bridge area and there are little pools all over the show.. I wouldn't be surprised if more great sightings pop up in the next week or two..

Greater painted snipe

Josh, I think this Diderick came out a bit better

Geez but I was pee'd off with that oke

First I try and tell him the White Crowned Lapwings are Threatened and quite uncommmon, seeing that there are only about 90 pairs in KNP, but noooooo whatever... DD has no idea what he is talking about..

Then he asks us what is sitting in a tree next to the road.. I tell him Whalberg's because I genuinely thought he didn't know, then he tunes us it is a Yellow Billed Kite.. BECAUSE HE SAID SO.

Stephen, here is the Whalberg's (YBK wannebe) we saw that night..

I wish I could turn birds into what I want them to be, instead of what they really are

Another thing to quickly point out is the pact that in general Eagle's rarely have bare legs. Feathers normally run all the way down the the claws. In contrast the YBK the yellow legs should have been visible in this shot.
