First of all thankyou for all the positive replies:
Elsa-Odessy-Steamtrainfan-Katja-Leeukos and Flutterby.
Hi, its has been a mission to get this far this evening, the connection takes ages to downlaod. A BIG thankyou to my SO for doing the whole report last night while I was not feeling too well!!!
This morning he went out on his own and the first photo is of the sun breaking through the early morning mist. Then the LBR all fluffed up but the colours so vibrant. The kudu with his magnificent horns. He then came back and we both went out later on the S28 and saw the usual game of giraffe, zebras, wildebees, warthogs, impis galore, and a lovely rhino included above. At the Ntandanyani Hide we saw a lonely hippo which I thought was dead but he opened his one eye and twiddled his ear and wagged his tail but the water does not look good and is drying up fast. Two Egyptian geese were giving the local crocodile the evil eye as he obviously intended catching one for lunch!!!!!! Then on to Lower Sabie and Sunset Dam. By this time the temp was soaring into the 30;sC. The African Wattled Lapwing is what we photographed at the dam. Then we wended our way home. We saw all in all 4 of the Big Five but the lion we saw only as spec on the otherside of the Sabie river  Oh well maybe tomorrow we will see them and the elusive leopard!!!. We sitting here outside on the stoep(veranda) listening to the cricket chorus and the Bushbabies calling out to aech other and the stars are shining bright up above. We could not ask for anything better and maybe we are in heaven !!!! We going out with friends for a Brunch tomorrow at mlondozi picnic spot and will hopefully bring you a travel report again tomorrow night with perhaps some stunning photos who knows thats what Kruger is about Good night!!!!!

Thanks once again for the encouraging comments ,means a lot to us!!! :D
Elsa we placing a picture of the Croc Bridge on the day we arrived but will take one again on our way home later!!
Bornfree : Flutterby: Schota :Pumbaa:VGStephens :Katja-no leopard yet!!!!
We met up with our friends and left here at about 6:30am with the mist beginning to lift took the S28 and saw 6 Dagga boys still having a snooze. then lots of the usual game and at the Ntandanyathi Hide the baboons left a slight mess but we settled down and were rewarded with Zebras, Wildebees,Warthogs,Impis, and a variety of birds. One just feels like staying for the day!!! Anyway then we were off again and came across a very calm breeding herd of elephants right next to the road (I must confess that I become very panicky near them!!!) Then onto the Sabie River and two big male lions lying near the riverbed but unfortuneately the one facing us did not look well and seems to have TB , so we thought best not to place the photo!
A pitstop at L Sabie and then onto Mlondozi Picnic spot. Lots of Zebra on the way and then onto our Brunch. Rather fullup with people with the same idea as ours but we managed to get a table and a view to die for!!!! Herds of Waterbuck,Hippos out of the water, 4 Elephants drinking, 3 rhinos having a snooze under the trees not too far away included in the picture is myself and the friends I am on the left!!! We had fried boerewors (beef sausages) bacon, egg, tomato and toast with marmalade and oh yes forgot Pawpaw for starters and Orange juice. Carel and Alida did the frying.
On our way back we saw 4 of the big 5 again ( Katja sorry still no leopard. Well thats all until tomorrow.

Hi Everybody!!
Shi andKatja  hi-no spots yet!!!
Crested Barbet : tks for lovely comments
Steamtrainfan : No, no monkeys thank goodness they had an appointment elsewhere!!!!!
VGStephens and TimandMel : Maybe we should all wear yellow ribbons!!!

Today,s report will not be very long as it was a cloudy and cold windy day and the animals as you know seem to hide and notwithstanding we saw lots of Impis, rhinos, zebras, etc . We travelled the S28 again and just before Lower Sabie near the Sausage Tree we hit a huge traffic jam. We got so excited and thought wow, now we going to get Katja her spotted one!!!!! We can get impatient but we kept our patience and inched closer and closer until we were in front of the tree (full of green leaves). We asked the lady in the Kombi where the leopard was. She said only its tail was visible but it had turned around on the branch and now they could not see the tail anymore :hmz:  So we moved on to Lower Sabie Sorry a tail does not vouch a leopard sighting or what.
We came home and then went out later but just saw the usual but still happy to be here. The wind has died down so maybe a better day tomorrow. We move onto Skukuza tomorrow night till then good night and sleep tight !!!!

Well, woke up this morning to a beautiful clear sunny day and we packed up quickly and left just after six am. It was truely rhino day today we saw at least 10 between Croc and Lower Sabie! We took the H4-2 then turned off at the S137 towards the S28. Before Dukes Waterhole we got a breeding herd of elephants. then 5 rhinos and then onto Ntandanyathi Hide and what a difference from the day before when we saw just about nothing. This time a breeding herd of elephants came down to drink water right in front of us. The antics of the little ones always amuses us especially as the embankment is quite steep and they slip and slide down to the water!!! Then it looked like the Matriach gave the signal and they all left the water at once and the stragglers that still felt like some more water were given a push on their butt to move on!!! We can truely learn from them about discipline! Then the zebras came down to drink and as we were leaving the wildebees came marching down. We stopped at LS and then spent time at Sunset dam having coffee and rusks and then started moving on to Skukuza. Met up with a buffalo herd crossing the road down to the river( close up photo) Then just as we were on the home strait to Skukuza a traffic jam. A leopard had left an impala carcass in the tree and no leopard to be seen!!!!!
Oh well will have to wait, Kruger will show him when she is ready.
On to booking in but forgot only 2pm so went down and bought Rock cakes to take to Lake Panis and have lunch before going into the Hide. Lots of activity at the Hide as per usual with the birds animals etc. Elephants came round once again but only moved around in bushes around the Hide. Then guess what happened!!!! Okay I'll tell you all of you that were holding thumbs , yes we saw our first leopard on this trip!!!!!!!! :D He was lying across the lake a bit far away on the otherside of the lake so the picture is not 100% and Frans apologies but you can see him clearly. What a consternation in the Hide more and more people arrived obviously hearing about the leapard and when we went back this afternoon guess what, he was back having a quick drink and moving behind the bushes which made it difficult for a photo. Well fantastic ending to a fantastic day and as we sit here with everyone starting up their Braaivleis fires and the chitchat around we could not be in a better place and wish you were all here to savour this great moment. I must sign off Frans saysI have overdid it sorry Good Night

This is todays post: We took the H4-1 to the High water Bridge over the Sabie river and stopped on the bridge to have coffee and rusks when I suddenly saw this head keep popping up and then suddenly realised that it was the fresh water otter swimming upstream. The hippos blocked him from going up to the next pool so he climbed over the rocks and F managed to get a photo also not perfect but we were so excited to have such a sighting!!!!! Then we drove back to Skukuza and of course to Lake Panic. Elephants again and then the photo is of the Greyheaded Heron with two chicks. We saw them mating in May ! Someone said they are 2 female chicks. So Frans said how do you know and replied they never stop chirping :   We also saw the African Darter appearing out of nowhere with a fish he had caught_ throwing it in the air to line it up and swallowing it. We the wended our way out of the Park via Phabeni as we are booked in at a Lodge till Friday when we return to Croc Bridge. We will however be still reporting back as we hope to go into the Park on Wednesday and Frans has more photos he would like to share with you taken on this trip.Have a lovely evening and enjoy the photos. We have our yellow ribbon but have seen only two: Jackalberry and another that did not stop  Good night until tomorrow :D
