The wasp just paralyses the spider, and the larva literally eats it alive. Horrid thought!

Eeuw! What an awful thought. But an interesting variation on the normal larder . . . .

EJ, sometimes it seems like Nature is cruel and unforgiving. :hmz: Let's hope that the spider feels no pain.

Great video EJ. I had no problem looking at it. Wouldn't you think the ellies would know that the office is only for business not pleasure.!!!!

:D We get such good sightings there sometimes! Impalas, warthogs, monkeys, birds.....one day an impala killed by a leopard behind the office (we moved the carcass to prevent the smell!).

Sorry, but that will be all from me for a while as I will be out of contact until late February now. Enjoy the photos and videos meanwhile!

Got back home to my caravan yesterday afternoon. So good to be back!

Discovered a badly bent pole at the front of the caravan tent.....either rain pooling on the roof or ellies reaching for marulas there. Not as bad as the damage last year, but I need to work out what to do about it.

Ellies have also been regularly coming into camp while I was away. The fence shows multiple attempts at repair, and even the gate chain had to be fixed. Seems they have been walking through from the lookout area near the river to the corner next to my caravan..... Several trees have suffered too. Just outside the fence next to the caravan an umbrella thorn has been uprooted. Fortunately it fell along the fence not towards the caravan!

They did not come last night.....maybe they knew I was back!

Off to the office for intensive work today.
