EJ, ....I am sure the newbies were thrilled. with 17 wonderful different sightings

And I forgot to add a pair of ground hornbills! Later in the drive I wanted to show them a community spider nest.....but they switched the lights off and refused to look.....total arachnophobes!!!!!

Glad to hear that the left eye is 'nearly there'. Praying that the right eye is also a success. What a good night you had the other evening and also that the eye held up well. May see you soon.

Raymond had called and asked me to do a night drive tonight, but then called and said the guests had cancelled so I was not needed after all. Did a camp check instead and found folk who had been here 3 extra nights........!

EJ did you frog march the guests to the gate .or feed them to the lions . or be more gentle and just take their permit ... At least you can now have an early night

EJ have you managed to sort out your fridge, with the 4 screws you found?

Left guests but noted all details and will ensure they report to tihe office in the morning. Sent email to both managers too

Have not tackled the fridge......too difficult on my own. It will be too heavy for me to manage when it is loose.

Trust you will find suitable help soon..... to assist to move it.

I'll make a plan! Might have to work out something to support it when I get it loose.....And I think it is going to be a tight fit getting out the door too.

Hi EJ! Been following you since we met and before!!!! (hope you remember me)!!! My SO had both his eyes done this year and feels like a new person!!!! Thinking of you always and God bless!!! What a marvel you are, in every circumstance!!! We were offered a big house on the river in Marloth from 22/11 - 29/11, but unfortunately had to decline. My daughters mother in law is going overseas to New Zealand to see her other son, so Gamps and Gammi will not leave their babies, even for my beloved bushveld!!! All done and dusted now. The doc was really pleased with my eyes and in fact could scarcely wait to start the check-up on Friday morning! I can see quite well, and it will get better he tells me. Wonderful!!!!!

Out in the concrete jungle at the moment, but returning to Kruger on Tuesday early.....

The 3 nights at Letaba went very quickly! Enjoyed the river view and had ellie bull almost constantly there, buffalo, waterbuck, impala, giraffe and lots of birds too. Did not do much driving about, and rather relaxed. Had a mini-meet with Chirinda, Val and Dungie which was great!

The trip home yesterday was not the leisurely drive I had planned for various reasons, but was full of sightings including a couple of cat jams, ellies, rhinos, buffs (a couple of huge herds), giraffes, warthogs, impalas, zebs, wildebeest.....

Had a problem with car starting after getting back which turned out to be a burnt out solenoid, but got it fixed fortunately. It threw out my plans though, so was late to bed and now up early ready for my 4 nights in the bush. Won't be on the forum as no electricity and probably no signal until later Wednesday......

Oh and had waterbuck at the fence here yesterday evening, and ellies around - still hear some rumblings now.

And now back at Skukuza......

Drove in convoy with another guide to Skukuza from Malelane, and as I got here he saw oil begin to pour from under my vehicle....... A bit of investigation and we found the work on the starter motor the night before had weakened a pipe near by which had given way eventually as I got to Skuks.

It threw our plans out....and we hitched the trailer to the other vehicle, transferred stuff from my car and left it parked safely to be sorted out when we got back, and went to meet 2 more guys and shoe-horn them and their stuff into the vehicle and trailer too! We did it.....and then drove to the agreed meeting place for the other guys. A little redistribution ensured a bit more comfort on the ride to the camping area as we had 3 vehicles then.

And what an area we were given! Away from any tourist road, with a windmill and reservoir and water trough on the banks of a seasonal river. We arrived to find a large herd of ellies drinking at the reservoir and a rhino at the water trough and had to sit and wait for them to leave. They eventually did.....straight towards us! They ambled happily past the cars, and off towards the river bed. Wow!!!

Then it was time to choose the camping spots.....
