Can anyone help with an ID of what I think is a parasitic plant on this tree? Seen in the western part of Mapungubwe in late October 2014.

She doesn't know either but has a theory. It doesn't look like you normal "voelent" but it might be that the tree had a hollow that some seeds germinated in that can cause it to look like the plant is growing in the tree.

She's not that big a sanparks fan as I'm give her a knitting, quilting, crotchet, embroidery. ect forum and she'll be there.

Many thanks to you and your mom, NetEk, I agree that's a likely idea.

Still hope that someone may have some idea what the plant might be .....

Can anyone help me with an ID of these two flowers? Seen at Crooks Corner, KNP, in early November 2014.

Your first plant may be Sida cordifolia subsp. maculata

Your second plant: This is 2 in 1 photo! The stem of the flowers are different than the dead leaves and green stems in the back ground. The flowers, are of a climbing/scrambling plant, which I think, are those of Ipomoea shirambensis, this plant is only found in the northern regions of Limpopo. It flowers before making leaves. The plant with green leaves and thorns look like a Spikethorn (may be Gymnosporia putterlickioides)

If this photo was taken in Tamboti in the Kruger National Park, a known plant with distinct heart-shaped leaves found there, are Ipomoea obscura var. obscura. It’s flowers are yellow. They are widespread, but I think they go down just as far as East London region.

Apologies, my last comment was for an ID requested by isinkwe on first page of this topic.
