On the latest trip to Kruger I fell in love with the Pod mahogany. They were in bloom and looked really beautiful.
Does anyone else have a tree that they find particularly attractive?

I've got a soft spot for a few.

Leadwood (combretum Imberbe) because they are the "everlastings"

Boabab (Adansonia digitata) I know it is actually a succulent, but it has this "pressence"

Fevertree(Acacia xanthophloea ) the color and history.

Sycamore fig (Ficus Sycomorus) for the cool atmosphere and the promise of water and something after the fruit.

suppose I should stop, as the list could go on and on and...

Yes, my list is also long.
Although, I don't find it the most attractive of trees, I also love the Magic guarrie. It just has such a strong bush feel and it can be used for so many things.

Boabab (Adansonia digitata)
One of the most fascinating trees there is. It can be used for loads and loads of things varying from shelter for the rain to medicins. It's also the only tree I know that flowers at night.

Fevertree (Acacia xanthophloea)
I like this tree just because it's gut such a weird color.

Sicklebush (Dichrostachys cinerea)
This tree has beautiful 'Chinese lantern' like flowers in summer.

or Nkuhlu

Good one, MM I still don't know all that many trees, but I'd have a hard time choosing between

Baobab, as for me each one has a unique personality

Umbrella thorn, which for a foreigner who dreamed of visting Africa for years before I finally first did, seems just quintessentially "African"

Definetly the Mopane Tree for me.

I have a baby Knobthorn at home plus 7 White Stinkwoods (Celtis Africana) plus Schotia Affra (Karoo Boerboon) x 6 plus Wild Pear plus 2 x White Ironwood plus 3 x Dwarf Coral Tree plus 5 x Puzzlebush (Erethreda Rigida) plus Wit Bessie bush x 2 plus 8 x Aloe Ferox plus 4 x Aloe Alborescens plus plus plus so the birdies love to visit!!!

I love Accasia trees but my SO won't let me plant any in my garden says she is scared of the thorns and the kids running around. I've managed to sneek some Kei Apples in as she is not aware they also have thorns.
My best garden tree is still my Common Coral Tree.

Snoonab Acacia trees should be fine with kids as our kids grew up with them and its only my favorite Nigresens (Knobthorn) that caught them up during robust kids games. This tree also has the habit of dropping little branchlets and those little hook thorns get in their feet. But what a tree....we now live in PE and I,m busy establishing a bird exclusion zone where no one apart from my feathered friends can hang out . Its full of Ehrethreda Rigida...Puzzle bush from Skukuza Nursery. and pride of place is the new tree I bought in Sept at Skukuza...Knobthorn...probably the only one in the Eastern Cape...but I'm happy! Enjoy your trees...We had three HUGE coral trees in our garden in Grahamstown where the Hadedas used to nest and mess on the cars below

I know that Peter but my SO has this misconception that they drop thorns everywhere and are dangerous
I will carry on nagging and hopefully get my eventually.

My favorite has to be Acacia tortilis.

It should be the symbol of the African bush.
