Cannot help to think of Kruger (and long for) when I sometimes get the smell of cooked potatoes - especially Pretoriuskop and Olifants. These are the two camps where I smelled the potato bush most often. A field guide (in one of the neighbouring lodges in Sabi Sand) once showed it out to us. I could not believe such a little unteresting-looking plant was responsible for the smell I associate with the two mentioned camps.

The Potato Bush I know is Phyllanthus reticulatus. That's the one that one can smell so strongly in the Kruger.
