 Well, technically, all of us take the webcam pic; so, let's attribute it to you for now. Great sighting, whichever way you look at it.

Theoretically you must measure along the OUTSIDE length of the horn...and that could make you seasick with kudu, so the kudu have provided that little ridge to aid you, although some don't!

 I'm far less technical when it cones to kudu - for me it's either a two-turn, two-and-a-half turn, or a three-turn (haven't seen one of those in a while!) animal.

This one on H14 between Mopani & Boulders camp turn off actually pales into insignificance compared with some of the previous pictures .
KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

Richprins, the "outside edge" is the old measurement. The current measurement is on the ridge - speak of seasick!

OWN - three curl? Where' you see that? Those are virtually unknown! And those are actuall two-curlers, starting the third - not really 2 1/2 yet. But they are magnificent.

Bish, I've seen two-and-a-half turn kudu horns maybe half a dozen to eight times; a two-and-three-quarter twice; and three-turn kudu horns only once - in the early 90s!

Another excellent pic, CPT.  Amazing how often the horns are dipped as they browse on branches above them - I always find this angle fascinating.
