My daughter and son-in-law were in Croc Bridge for 3 nights (27, 28 & 29 October) and saw a group of 10 wild dogs on the S26 (Bume Road) where the S108 meets. They showed me some interesting video footage about inter-action between the dogs and some zebra. Cannot confirm any signs of denning in this case.

They also stayed in Pretoriuskop on 30 & 31 October. Saw 3 wild dogs just to the north of the northern Shabeni Loop junction on the S7 on two consecutive days (same spot). Not sure whether they are denning there, but seeing them on exactly the same spot two days in a row makes one think it can be happening.

Wildchild and family jut got back from the KNP! :D
Had the pleasure of spending eight fun filled viewing days from the 2nd to the 9th December in the park and saw wild dogs on three different occasions.
Our first sighting this trip occurred on the Gomondwane Loop.
After passing a family of white rhino which were fairly close, we carried on along the loop and on turning one of the bends in the road, were met by the sight of some wild dogs sitting right on the shoulder o the road.
in all there were nine dogs in the pack and we spent some quality minutes with them as they ran into the bush, came out again a few times until they finally disappeared into the veld.

Our second and third sightings took place on our last day in the park on our ay home.
After entering the park at the Crocodile Bridge Gate, we were deciding whether to take the S28 or the main tarred road.
We decided on the tarred road and shortly came across a pack of dogs sitting on the side of the road. in all, there were eight in this pack.
We followed them for a fair distance as the alpha male proceeded into the bush trying to pick up the scent of game and the younger ones frolicked around and were intently involved in their games catch me.

The third sighting took place later the same day, in fact, it was at about ten thirty on our way down from Tshokwane towards Skukuza.
this was a pack of fifteen, some of whom were busy eating something which they had killed.
All we saw were a few chunks of meat in some of their mouths, while the others were trying to snatch the meat from their mouths.
We stayed with this pack for close to two hours as they ran along the road looking for more food.
At one stage the Alpha male managed to flush an Impala ram from the bush but they did not manage to kill it. The other amazing observation was an impala lamb which was sitting about to to three metres away from the road and we expected, it to fall prey to one of the fifteen that were headed its way.
Yet, believe it or not, every single one of the dogs passed by without so much as seeing or smelling it.
We were indeed fortunate to view three different sightings of these amazing creatures during this trip.

Almost forgot to mention, the most disappointing part during this sighting, was the fact that one of the dogs picked up an old rusted cooldrink can which it began chewing on while another dog snatched part of it from it and also chewed on it.
that was not all, one of them also picked up a plastic bag which it began chewing.
I have not seen so much littering in the park on any of my previous trips as on this one: toilet paper, dustbin plastic, paper bags, cans and plastic packet! :(

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO VIEW THEM IN THE KRUGER PARK

I honestly don't know where the "best" place is and if there is a best place, we haven't found it yet. :P We have seen wild dogs twice on the H4-2 between Crocodile Bridge and Lower Sabie, very close to the S82 gravel road turn-off. The sightings were about a year apart. Both times were large packs (8-10) and the last time they were involved in a "scrap" with a hyaena clan  Very exciting

I'm sure other Forumites will have many more places for you to go and try :P

There's no best spot to see them, but a lot of people see them between Croc Bridge and Lower Sabie. I've seen wild dogs near Skukuza, just north of Thsokwane, near Timbavati picknick spot and on the S44 near Olifants.

I think luck is the word.
I did not see them for 4 trips up to 1998.
Then saw them in the Maroela loop near Skukuza in 1999. Then not again for 5 trips.
In Dec 03 spot them five times (Within a week)
at lower Sabie (H4-1),
Crocodile Bridge ((H4-2),
Skukuza twice (H4-1 & H11)
as well as from my hut in Berg & Dal.

Without a doubt between Crocodile Bridge and Lower Sabie :P (closer to Lower Sabie than to Croc Bridge)

On the S82 close to Lower Sabie again.
On the H1-4 between Satara and Olifants close to the S127 turn off.
About 5 km's from Shingwedzi on the H1-6.
