Oki doki here we go.

Littlejohn has send me his video clip. I have edited it to the part where one can see the animal. The rest was only darkness.
Please help him ID 100%

Looks like Cape Fox to me.

Hi MM - I am not sure exactly where littlejohn is located but I assumed in the Cradle. This is the location I gave the guy that Id'd it as Cape Fox from the sound clip. He had the following to say in his email, which might be of interest to you.

Quote:
...sounds like a Cape Fox - I think Freeme have released some in the area before - and I definitely saw one cross the road about 5 years ago.

I asked Littlejohn where he lived and he said its was more in the south. There was a reserve fairly close by. I am very interested in your clip on Freeme thought. Thank you.

Buying this Camera trap/trail camera has really been a great investment. We have subsequently "video'ed" a whole pile of other animals we didnt know exist on our farm! Its great to have "eyes" whilst you are safely tucked up in bed. What a pleasure after waiting out at night in the bushes in the freezing weather. For camping, it would be great. Attach it to your tent pole or nearby fence and see who/what visits you at night. It is small, has no negative impact on the animals and is totally unobtrusive.-a new dimension to our game viewing and identification!

Hi Littlejohn. Has your night time screacher been positively identified as a Cape Fox?
Would also be interested to hear what other animals you have discovered on your farm. :hmz:

Hi LittleJohn.
I also bought one of those camera traps very recently. Fascinating to have photographed honey badger, bush pig, warthog and brown hyena during the last week. The one hyena looked like it had an old snare wound around its neck. That camera was worth every penny!
