Filmed at the Nossob road a week and a half ago.

There was another AWC, just a kilometer spaced from this one...

Wow..... Thats so beautiful.    You're lucky to have taken a photo. Whenever I come across these cats something is wrong, like I have no battery or it's too dark to see it through the lens.

Hi
When I went to Shingwedzi in July 2004 ; I saw one of these elusive cats on a night drive

Unfortunatley, I could'nt take any pics because it was moving rather quickly. :(

These were taken in June 2007 at Kgalagadi. Can't remember the exact locations but think it was on the road to Nossob from Twee Rivieren.

Sorry about the quality of photos as these were taken into the sun next to the road. Spot the AWC (Psssst, it's on the Sociable Weaver's Nest)

The next two were taken on the road from Mata Mata to Twee Rivieren.
Typical AWC pic with tail in the air.

Kgalagadi is definitely better AWC country than Kruger. In KTP, sightings are common, but in Kruger it is a rare sighting.
Have seen at least 6 in KTP in 4 visits, and 1 in 18 Kruger visits.

I saw my first (and one and only) AWC in Kruger (near Olifants) in November 2001. My first 5 visits to KTP did not produce a single AWC. During my sixth visit (May 2007) we saw a total of 10 AWC's.

We saw AWC in Mapungubwe on Friday morning while driving the river loop in the western section of the park.
My first day sighting and my first one outside of KNP. Nothing yet in KTP but hopefully that will change in December.

Wow thats great! I think you will have better luck finding them in KTP than in any other SANP.

Saw another (my second) in Kruger in December on a night ride down the S100 from Satara.

Yeah, it is quite odd. The people on the night ride got excited when we saw a pair of scrawny, emaciated lions walking on the road, (2 of the 47 I saw in 5 days), but the much rarer AWC was a bit boring. So many foreigners - and locals too - are taken in by this 'big 5' hype.

Screening the webcam time-lapse videos I came upon the following and thought it worth capturing and posting here too.

African wild cat!
