All the best for your upcoming trip to Kruger Safarigirl. it is always great fun to have a list of 'wow' sightings that one looks forward to and honey badgers are always on my list.
And you are right, it may be a bit far away, but it definitely is a honey badger sighting

Thanks for the update, RP.

Dodger, just be careful, cos then the wife might learn how to get out of the house at night without a key.

True, Anne-Marie. I was amazed how rough a cheetah's fur actually is.

HEY , thought i will tell you this, this very morning me and my dad were sitting at 5:30am just out side our bungalow at satara that is located right next the fence! I heard a russling noise behind me. As i turn around i see not one, not two, but three honey badgers four/five feet away from me! I do not no who got the bigger fright me or the badger! After he jumpes back in fright he gave us a few seconds of a rather ugly growl and snarl while the two slightly smaller badgers made a dash for the fence before catching up too them agian, it is a pitty i could not get any :cam: :cam: but it all happened so fast and i didn't even want to move with him snarly at me so close! It was really an amazing start to the day that lead to the end of our five day trip! :P

Brendon. Those are the "Satara" badgers as we (the family) named them. During June (2011) a badger would come from the camping area and visit each dustbin amongst the bungalows. He/She is quite tame but easily snarls when you get too near! Unfortunately I also do not have any pics. Next time I'll be ready.

The HB's were doing that at Satara when we stayed during September, 2009 - mom must teach her kids the fine art of dust bin diving and they pass it on to their offspring too!
