Ghislain,
I can't see the photo of the collared elephant.
Coming to your question: There are a few organizations active to track and trace the movements and life of elephants. One of them is STE (save the elphants). They have collared ellephants in different parts of africa and one of those area's is kruger.
Most "famous" and also a big tusker is MAC.
I have several collared ones at my tusker website (see link in signature) and if you like I can maybe help you.
Also Sanparks has collared a livind legend, called Duke. He lives in the southern part of kruger (Crocodile Bridge up to Tshokwane). He lost both big tusks and since they like to add his scull to the Letaba Hall they collared him to track him quickly when he dies. Duke is in his 50'ties and on his last set of teeth.

Please,
This elephant with a collar has been photographed on 15th August, this year in the early morning near the Ximangwaneni dam (on the gravel road to Talamati). Photo is not a high quality one. This elephant has a huge "hump" on the left side (underlined in red).
Why this elephant has a collar?
