I had an intresting discussion about Predators for a while. It was very intresting to hear that lot of predators decrease in numbers. In namibia there is only the Lions which increase but they are far away from beeing to much. It is in my oppinion a very intresting question, best examples Wild Dogs. They used to live everywhere in southern Africa. Now only a few spaces are left e.g. botsuana. Lions Were also found everywhere now only in Game Parks like Kruger did survive. The only Predator which can be found which indeed increase their Territory (not numbers!) are the Leopards.

My question will be if an increase will arise what can be done either to proteckt the Farmers and the animals. AND what will be the effeckt of the great reduction of predators... . Is it good, If yes, why? Is it bad, why? Because we do have a lobby which fight agains these animals and there are a lobby to proteckt them. we have to take in consideration that the human beeing will increase in numbers as well. I think that is intresting.

Most of the predators mentioned have widely differing social structures, habitat requirements and breeding patterns!

So it is difficult to formulate an answer, other than that human settlement has weeded out the strong from the weak!
