Hi Everyone,

I am very interested in if there is anyone conducting lion research in the Kruger Park currently?

I have alwayd wanted to study and work on lions in the park ever since I was 8 years old and will soon be registering for a Phd. My dream would be to do it on Kruger lions so any information regarding who I could contact, ideas for projects or just suggestions in general would be great!

Excited to go to the park in early August again!!!!

Hi LionJunkie, as far as I know ecojunkie, another forumite stationed at Malelane, accompanied lion researchers in the Malelane area a few months ago. Maybe she will be able to help you. Send a PM to her.

Lion Junkie they have a lion demographic study running, for the last few years I think where they monitor populations every month. For a PhD you would have to more than likely start a new project, through which university are you going to do it?

Best would be to contact someone from HERE

What kind of project did you have in mind? and your biology background? :D

Hello, and a warm welcome, LionJunkie!

I would suggest a thesis on Kruger vs other parks' lions reactions to tourists and their vehicles! No jokes!

A warm welcome to the forums LionJunkie

I know for certain that one of my lecturers in the department is doing a study on lions in kruger.

You can contact the Tshwane University of Technology Nature Conservation Department and inquire if any students or staff are conducting studies on lions in kruger. Or any university for that matter.

Richprins i really like that idea of yours!

Good Luck
