In July 2010 we saw a total of 29 Eland!

We saw this herd on two consecutive days at Mooiplaas waterhole.

Luck is on the side of those who plan their trips, travel slowly, have patience and of course are at the right place at the right time and then go there for the right reasons. :)

Had a best ever Cape Point eland day a few weeks back on a hike down Hoek Van Bobbejaan way. Came across a big herd of at least 45 in the valley behind the ridge. Then a couple hours later encountered a very young possibly abandoned calf between the shore and the base of the ridge. We then came across a further 2 adults about kilometer further down the path from the calf up against the slopes. A real treat :D

This is one of my very old printed photo's. I have always asked myself what the rhino was saying to the eland!!
