I have left Skukuza on Sunday to visit all the camps in the north. So far I have only saw one baby impala  outside Shingwedzi Camp this afternoon. It is unfortunate  that i could not take a picture, because you know how mothers are with their little ones. She immediately ran for a cover before I could even lift my camera. I have until Friday in the field and hopefully I will see another lamb.

We saw our first little ones on the main road between Mopanie and Shingwedzi close to Mopanie Camp on the 4th November. We also saw another two this morning on the S56 between dodging of breeding elephant herds. Will post pictures once I have a stable connection.

Wobbly legs for one, so very new!

Also today 3 Tsessebe calves on S143 Tropic of Capricorn loop.

Is the new life and new season not just so special. New beginnings. We have also see baby giraffe and the sweetest little warthogs.

Another observation I have made is that the baboon love to stick close to the impala once then lambs drop. I know there is a relationship between the two, but I see no baboon with impala herds without babies. I do know baboon eat the impala young. Would love to learn more about this relationship.

We saw a wobbly little chap on the road up to Olifants camp yesterday, and then a couple more in another herd just a little further along. None today on our way down to Skukuza.

I will add pics to my trip report in a short while.

Finally, I have managed to see the impala babies for the year 2013. The first one was outside Shingwedzi on Monday 04 November, even though I could not take a picture. While I was still mournful about missing a picture, I was rewarded with another sighting few kilometres before Satara.

Saw lots of Impalababys around Satara last weekend and today my first one in the North (near Mopani).
Also heard my first Woodie for this season today, otherwise everything is very quiet..
