Yes, Greater Cane Rat.

Interesting trivia - it's a local delicacy especially in parts of KwaZulu Natal where they are common in sugar cane fields.

Hello, i'm new here, so forgive my ignorance on the antelope identification front.

I'm sure this will be an easy one for you guys, but it's really been bugging me for a month now. Spotted last month in KTP behind the toilets at Melkvlei. It looked too big to be a steenbok, but how it is in the photo is the best sight I got of it. At the time I thought 'impala', but that's not likely. A hunter friend of mine thought it could be a small kudu?

Yes it does look like a Kudu - the shape and size of those ears . . . .

Ears look to elongated for Kudu!
