Are you sure about the fact of the heaviest weighed Kruger Lion?
The Sable Pride Male weighs higher than that

Hi Cheetah. Yes, I got these facts of lions from a book called ... (Don't know if we may name books on this site...)

The book was printed in December 2010 which means the information can already be a few years old.

What does the Sable Pride lion currently weigh ?? :hmz:

 I'm sure the book's name is not a problem.
But in any case the Sable pride male was weighed a few years ago. Maybe 2008 or 2009 region. And he was a giant among lions. I wish I knew the exact weight. Around 200kg's when he still had quite a lot of growing to do! Some of the younger elephants have fallen prey to the Sable Pride with this huge male!
So I am quite sure your book was correct!
However I suspect that the Sable Pride male overtook 225kgs. I wonder if he still lives? :hmz: Without the proof of weighing him we will never know though! Just interesting 8)

Hi,

We saw these mating pair of lions on the H4-1 near Skukuza.

A very nice specimen, definately the King of the Beasts.

Here is the female
