I heard John Robbie from 702 very briefly saying that they were trying to get hold of the ranger for an interview.
Was that the radio station Di?

Yes, I was most indignant that they questioned the video's authenticity  I was just itching to call in and say "well you know..."

Oh for they day we can host videos on this site...what a wealth of activity we would document...the traveler's tales are already an amazing archive...

The viewership continues to explode in the States - it has now made it onto CNN's website and I've seen it at least twice during their broadcasts this week. Only frustrating thing is that they keep on referring to them a "water" buffaloes -- if only they knew the difference -- last time I checked you can ride a water buffalo
Gotta luv the title of CNN's video -- "Safari Smackdown"

CNN, ABC, 702... all very nice. But only when the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports about the Kruger battle you know it´s BBBBIG news.

And don´t tell me I´m biased because I work for that newspaper!

Wow

A bit pedestrian at times, but wow!

Anyone know where it was in relation to Shing. It looked like the tar road to camp from the H1.

The ele IMHO was not saving the buff. His reaction to it looked like annoyance that the buff did not run away when he got close.
So wild dog are NOT the only predator to eat while the prey is still alive.

Thanks... but I can't see all in one time... I'll watch little episode by episode... I'm not brave

Amazing......Very emotional ...maybe the ellie was trying to tell the buf to rather give up instead of fighting and spare him such a cruel death.

Great sighting. And would have been a great video as well if not for the Hollywood soundtrack and the misinterpretation of the elephant's behaviour.

Agreed acekam, I found the music to be most inappropriate.
Also, I also did not particularly enjoy seeing the buff being eaten alive, and from the rear nogal, but that is how the area we 'invade' operates daily. AINFS!

Great video ! Agree with you BB -- sure it is the main road into camp from the H1 which follows the river. We saw buff, the impala, baboons and lions there in Sept. Wonder if the big boy was the dad of the cubs ? :)
That lioness really deserved her meal -- she worked hard enough for it !

but why would the elephant spray dust or dirt over the buffaloe? clearly there must have been some intention behind it!
