Spotted 4 porcupine quills on S126 in July, I wish they could tell a story though, one was pretty thick, probably about 7mm in diameter and bitten clean through....

Nice, Johan N! :dance:

An interesting thing to note is that while most pics obviously show the porcupine to be all erect with spikes blazing, etc. (understandably), in their relaxed state they are quite small and flat, so to speak!

(Except for the long quills on the neck area, which lay flat and seem to have a display purpose, and are pointless regarding defence, to excuse the pun! :D )

You may have missed it but something else did not! Look at the quill in the grass just off the road, above the scratch mark - almost looks like blood!

We were very luck to see four Porcupines during November 2011, all on the H10.

It was a very rainy day and we came across to groups of two Porcupines each.
