We caused a traffic jam last week on the Doispane road by stopping to take a couple of pictures of a giant kingfisher posing right next to the road

About 10 seconds after we stopped a jeep jockey came along, spotted the kingfisher, parked right there and started telling his passengers all about kingfishers  Unfortunately about five other cars rolled up almost immediately (I definitely prefer the north!) all extremely interested in whatever has made a jeep jockey stopped of course. So what was supposed to be just a quick :cam: stop lasting at most a minute or two, became a ten minute long struggle to get out of the traffic jam :wall:

Are you insinuating that many Afrikaans speaking people are just chasing around looking for lions Gil?

I thought I was the only one.

Now BB you are wrong,
I am also known to have asked "waar is die bier"

We caused a traffic jam on the way from Skukuza to Lower Sabie, we were just parked on one of the river loops absorbing the smell and sounds of the park and some people asked us what we had seen and we said "nothing we are just relaxing and enjoying the park" and the more we said this the more they did not believe us because they thought we were lying and one person even said to us if we were crazy because he had never heard of people just sitting in a car listening to the sounds of the bush and enjoying the smell of the park, so 3 cars just decided to "hang around" with us, it became uncomfortable after a while and we drove away, in the south it is easy to cause a traffic jam

I like the comments in the thread - it is dead easy to cause a TJ - we often stop for something - sometimes a bird or some small thing - when we tell those that ask 'what are you looking at" we answer a bird - amazing how quickly people drove off - but you can mostly see who is interested so you make up the answer that you hope will cause confusion - we had a group of Mozambiquans in a kind of combi - both back doors oepn and little kids sitii9ng on the step with their feet on the road

They asked what we had seen - I simply said we had smelt Leopard further down the road - wow they shut the doors quickly and moved down the road - my friend laughed with me whilst my wife chastised me - but at least they closed the doors !!!
