BBM group is fantastic...

besides for the fact that our sightings on my last 5 trips or so have improved tremendously thanks to the group, not in terms of the exact animal seen but helps with choice of roads to travel!

Wow that is true! fantastic :D

I do agree with it, but I still believe that some of the roads should be avoided when reporting sightings to avoid speeding and overcrowding on sighting, e.g lower Sabie - Skukuza road is one of the busy road.
If we respect nature, stick to the speed limits given, respect other visitors, give each other a chance to view and taking pictures to avoid jumping off from cars for a better picture,
as long as we don't misuse it I don't see any problem.

My first reaction was: "NO!! Traffic jams!!" etc. etc. etc. :rtm:

Then remembered that we happily went after a lion sighting in January, the whereabouts being sent to us by sms by somebody at the sighting.

It's a closed group. Honestly, how many of you will be in the park at the same time? Certainly not enough to cause a huge traffic jam that already excists anyway. :D

Hi we have finally arrived after a wonderful drive from Malelane gate via Transport dam and S65 to Skukuza. Had a lovely Rhino sighting lots of,ellies, klipspringers, huge Kudu bulls and several others all in or next to the road.
Right now I am posting from our Safari tent in Skukuza.
Pure bliss.
On mobile so sadly no time for a longer report.
We tried to join the Blackberry group but was denied.
Can someone please help with advice?

Hi, we tried the BBM a few times, but failed. We have just returned from KNP and while we were there we successfully joined the whatsapp group which turned out to be great. Out intention was not to rush to sightings but it was still exciting to read about other sightings in the area. So we checked in every now and then, and it was not a case of constantly checking the mobile phone. We only had cell phone reception near camps anyway. In exchange we also reported some good sightings. I can recommend the whatsapp group. Will use it again when we go in September.

Hi J and P,

May I suggest that you confirm with your SP regarding BBM and data with your BB whilst in S.A.

You may find that it is not included in your package.

I have just received a message from my provider (obviously sent to all the BB users in S.A.) that BIS - including IS NOT free when going out of the country and that data rates will apply.

Just been to Mozambique and although I can use the service there it is VERY expensive - so check it out before getting a huge data account on your return - S.A. is on of the most expensive Cell areas in the world.

Enjoy your trip,

KR
