Practical question: while staying at the hide in Shipandani, can staff at Mopani store your fozen meat etc until you're back at the main camp?

Dear Frizzle

Please note that you can store your frozen meat at Mopani restcamp, while you are staying at Shipandani hide. You can also hire cutlery at the camp if you do not have any.

Hello People

I'm scouting around for a halfway between Tamboti and Punda Maria. So, I see this Shipandani Hide and it looks like a plan. I just dont know where to find out how much it costs. Where can I take a splash the next morning? How many folks pile in there for the night.

See, to touch on what may be a sensitive issue. I dont do it all the time but my wife tells me that sometimes I snore quite viciously hey. Depends on how I lie. And then she gives me a kick and I roll over and it's all OK again. For a while anyway. I'll tell you what (and I've told her but she says it aint so), that she also does the woodworking from time to time. And the same little trick sorts her out. So, if there's a bunch of folks there, it might just not be so grand if we start snoring and kicking and so forth.

Cheers - Ed

Moobox, I think you have to book the hide and it's only for you and anyone with you, you don't share with other people

We have booked 2 nights at the 2 overnight hides in July. To say we are super-excited is putting it midlly. I just need to know how much firewood to take along. Does it really depend on whether we are braai-ing or not? And I don't suppose we need mozzi stuff? Any other tips I need to know about? And I also need to know whether the duvets issued are warm enough in the middle of winter, or do I need to take extra bedding?
Thanks. :D

Warm welcome to the forums, Ingy Palmer.

I can't advise about how much wood you will need, but I would advise taking precautions against mozzies.

Have a wonderful stay !
