Any news on the driver of the vehicle (DSV 440 MP) that recklessly drove into an impala, killing it yesterday.

I saw it on the latest Sightings forum yesterday.

Too much of this seems to be happening recently.

Hopefully it was reported to the authorities immediately where action would have been taken against the driver.

This is info that was forwarded to me:

Really upset!

Friends was on H7 at Nsemani dam 15:20 this afternoon when they got the bus of Singita who was speeding from Orpens side Impalas was in the road and on the side of road.

The bus pushed them out of the way and on purpose hit a Impala female.

She could not get away in time and died!

They alerted Satara and Singita we hope they do something about this reckless driver!

The above should not be tolerated, I request that this topic be left open until the matter had been investigated and the required action had been taken with a report back given here.

Persons who do not respect the rules of our National Parks should not be allowed to enter the gates of our parks, meaning that they should also not be allowed to be employed in our parks.

This driver should be fined and given a life-time ban from employment in or even entering KNP.

  Good idea gmlsmit - hit them both where it really hurts - in the pocket. That sort of punishment leaves a lasting mark.

Singita was mentioned in the notification sent to me.

Singita has now just been named as one of three top safari destinations in Africa, what a shame if their bus is involved.

I, obviously did not witness this incident and although I agree that the driver must/might have been reckless, I think stating that the driver/bus
Quote:
on purpose hit a Impala female
, speculative.

''on purpose'' is a dangerous allegation. It also loses the focus of the thread.

We need to focus on reckless driving, not intention.

Eg. Stand at Kruger gate and watch at what speed staff vehicles arrive when crossing the bridge , then we wonder why speeding happens inside. Guards should not even let a vehicle that speeds up to a gate in a hurry enter. My humble opinion....

Forest, I agree, that is why we need to be aware and report.

We just need to be accurate with facts and not jump to conclusions.

There is a completely different credibility between, ''some one sped recklessly at such and such a time'' and gate.. compared to.. ''he aimed intentionally at female impala.''

Lets just be accurate and real.

I cannot even begin to comprehend the fact that the driver aimed to hit the impala, in my opinion it was due to recklessness and speed. Who in their right mind would want to knock an animal over intentionally?????

If you speed and drive recklessly, it is just a matter of time before an animal is killed. Being a staff member who should know better than most, I am pretty sure driver is aware that if he drives like that he could injure or kill an animal. So if he speeds intentionally and kills an animal is it not on purpose and intentional?
