I just booked a number of walks and game drives by emailing central reservations including what drives and walks I wanted, the dates and how many people.
I included my Reservation number and Client code - I had a reply email the next day with billing information, went online and made the payment and got an updated statement showing the added activities and paid in full. Very efficient, quick and easy!

Dear all,

I am planning a trip to Kruger Parc in October and am already extremely excited about it!

Please could you help me to figure a few things as I’ve never been and it proves a bit difficult to realize how much time activities and driving between camps will take:

At the beginning of October, do you know (approximately):

- when the morning mountain bike trips at Olifants start and end?
- at which time the deluxe braai / sunset drive at Mopani start?
- When the sunset drives begin? (I've seen 5pm on the website)
- When the night drives begin?

Also do you know what is the minimum time to drive from Olifants to Mopani ?

Thanks a lot if you can help! :k

Maykiki

Hello maykiki, welcome to the forum. I think we can all imagine how excited you are.

Unfortunately all the camps have different start times for the various activities at different times of the year. The best thing to do would be to contact the camps directly. You'll find contact details here

Travelling between Olifants and Mopani should take between 2-3 hours, depending on sightings. If you get a good sighting or an elephant or buffalo road block plan on longer. If it's quieter it could be done in 2 hours.

Hi all!
We are going to Kruger Park in December '12.
We booked accommodations for all nights.
My question is, is it really necessary to prebook in advance drives and walks?
Can you just book activities upon arrival at camps?
Or we would better do it now?
I ask because I hesitate to book now because I am not sure about our exact schedule, we will stay in several camps.
I would prefer to book in camps, but if everything will be fully prebooked it will not work. Thanks!

Hi Jabberwok and a warm welcome to the forum!

Which camps will you be staying at?
Some of the more popular ones might possibly get the activities booked up early, especially in the busy season but generally its not really necessary and you can get what you want as long as you book as early as possible either the night before or as soon as reception opens in the morning.
But of course its always a chance you take!
Enjoy your trip.

Have a read Drives info and

Walks for lots of great advice and info.

Howzit Jabberwok. Welcome to the forum. Nice handle.

You can book a walk/ride at camp A while staying in camp B, once your schedule settles down.

Thank you very much for information.
Our first night will be at Lower Sabie, I think we will book everything from there.

My family and I will be in KNP May 19-24, staying at Berg En Dal and Skukuza.
I want to make an ADVANCE RESERVATION for a morning game walk so we can be certain of it.
But I cannot figure out how to make this reservation on the Sanparks website.
Could someone instruct me, please?
Also, if you have any advice of the relative merits of a game walk from Berg En Dal vs. Skukuza, I would appreciate it.
This is my first Forum post, so excuse me if the information I want is already here, and I simply could not locate it!

Hi Hamboneco, welcome to the forum.

To book a walk in advance you will need to email reservations@sanparks.org with your reservation number and they will add the cost to your account.

I'm afraid I haven't done a walk from either of these camps so can't advise on which one. Hopefully someone else will be able to advise on that.

A quick thank-you to all who responded---I was able to reserve and pay for a walk via email to the main Reservations, as instructed.

This was my first experience with the Forum, and I look forward to reviewing a number of the topics before we arrive in KNP.

Hi All

I have always booked my drives and morning walks when I get to each campsite, but does anyone know if I can book in advance? I couldn't see anything obvious on the online booking bit of the site.

Really wanted to do a morning walk at LS last time, but they were fully booked and I don't want to miss out this year.

Thanks

Louise
