It was a real privilege to have seen the older white cup last weekend, looking strong and healthy………getting news that another was born recently makes me want to return to Satara soonest.

All of a sudden August is a very long way away

Fantastic news that there is now 2 (that I know of). One of the males in the area must have fairly strong white lion genes in him, hopefully this is a good sign of things to come

This past December we came to a traffic jam on the S100.
Apparently we had just missed some Lions disappearing into the bush.
And among them was the white cub.

White lion in Satara

Unread postby Luren » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:21 am

Hi all
Apologies if wrong place to post thread. I dont have any pics as proof- will try to get them. My friend stayed at Satara 2 weeks ago and on a game drive the ranger spotted a lioness with 4 small cubs- one being WHITE!

Anyone else heard about that. I know they are uncommon and usually around Timbavati
I will be going there in May- hopefully still see it

Thanks
come what come may, the time and the hour runs through the roughest day

Hi Luren

Your friend had a fortunate sighting. It was sighted last week.
Hope you get to see it too on your visit
