Hi Whipper,

Best to send your email to patiencem@sanparks.org, Patience Mabaso is the Duty Manager and she has to approve the request before it can show on your reservation as confirmation.

Give her details of your booking and hopefully she can sort this for you.

When I was in Satara a couple of weeks ago, I enquired at reception about the bush braais. Since Mugg and Bean has taken over, bush braais are no longer organized since there's no agreement (yet) with Mugg and Bean to provide the food.

Hi to everyone booked for the Bush Braai on 14th May at Lower Sabie. We chatted to one of the guides tonight (Lungu) and he knew all about our booking, so the Bush Braai is on. Yay!
Had an awesome Sunset drive tonight with Lungu and this is what we saw:
Ele Breeding Herd
Giraffe
White Rhino
Spotted Thick-Knees
Zebra
Buffalo
Warthogs
2 x Black-backed Jackals
3 x Small Spotted Genets
1 x Civet
3 x Porcupines
16 lionesses with 10 cubs
2 x Hippo grazing
2 x Spotted Eagle-Owls
Verreaux Eagle-Owl (Giant Eagle Owl)
Bronze-winged Courser
Wild Dogs
Scrub Hares
Night Jars
Impala
Hooded Vulture
White-backed Vulture
Tawny Eagle
Marabou Storks
1 x Steenbok
2 x Burchell's Coucals
Crocodiles
The lionesses and cubs were awesome and feeding on a hippo. Best sight we have ever seen.
Looking forward to the Bush Braai on the 14th.

We actually found the other 4 people from the forum to do the bush braai with us.

Another way (via the forum) to find people is to look up the thread "when will I find a yellow ribbon in Kruger" and look for other members who are going to be in the same camp as you (at the same time). Is so then try a PM to them asking if they would like to join you. Does this make sense.

I hope it all works out.

Thanks! I wasn't familiar with that section of the forum. I'll check into that. I just got my yellow ribbon this weekend. So we'll be displaying it!!

LeftyLynn - we would have been happy to join you, as we are a party of 4 ex-south Africans/Americans but we'll be in Lower Sabie just before you …. we leave for Satara on the 6th October. SOrry!

Is there any news on Letaba stating Bush Braiis again under new organisation? We'll be there in August and would love to experience one.

Alternatively do Olifants do them at all?

Hopefully once the new restaurant is up and running at Letaba they will be offering the bush braai's.

Not sure re Olifants currently but also once new franchise is open they possibly will as well.
Best to write to them and ask.

I sure hope that the Bush Braais will be up and running again later in the year, we will be back in Kruger for 3 weeks beginning the very end of September, and besides bush camps we will be staying at Satara and Olifants during our stay. Hoping to join one or two bush braais while we are there.
