Hello and Thank You for These Forums!

Unread postby Nemophilist » Tue Mar 04, 2014 8:27 am

I am new to the forums—been lurking about a month after seeing a post on Facebook that redirected here.

I just want to thank you all for such an amazing, comprehensive gold mine of information about all things KNP (and SANParks). I am planning a huge trip 20 April to early June and plan to spend a few weeks camping in the KNP for the first time. I have been to Sabi Sand game lodges the past three years but am dying to camp and be in the bush "au natural".

Anyway, I am just blown away by the depth of the information here on these forums and I am truly grateful to have discovered it!

With much gratitude,

Rae from Vail, Colorado (ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, USA)

Hello Nemophilist
I imagine you have a lot planned for your trip and wish you safe travels. I know that with you coming from the US you won't be able to bring all the necessary gear needed to camp comfortably :hmz: and I would like to extend a South African warm welcome and offer to assist if there is anything you need that I might have that you can't bring with (wow that is a mouth full) I would be happy to oblige. We live very close (5 minutes away) to the OR Tambo airport and it would not be a hassle to meet up with you there and pass on the gear.

Happy to help!
Lesley

Wow! Thank you everyone—I feel the love! I feel the love! :D

Lesley, that is an amazingly generous offer. I am actually planning to bring my tent and hopefully sleep pad and also stay in bungalows and huts as necessary, but I might consider taking you up on your offer on a few things. I am finalizing my plans and bookings this week based on availability and while it looks like I'll be renting an SUV out of JNB and returning there, there's a chance I may return it down in Richard's Bay.

Thanks again everyone. I'm really excited.
