This past weekend we were fortunate to experience the "uniqueness" of regular sightings of rhino at a game lodge. I say "uniqueness" because they were all de-horned and somehow lost their majestic image. We had to explain to our kids the reason why they had no horns as others in photos (and as in Kruger) our kids has seen.

We had to explain the battle we have, we told them about the brave men that protect the rhino, even if means to de-horn them. And we told them about you, Andrew.

On behalf of Bianca (8) and Nico (6):

"Dankie oom Andrew, dat jy so mooi na ons renosters kyk. Ons sal vir Jesus vra om ook mooi na jou te kyk. Liefde, B en N. xxx"

Translation:
"Thank you, Uncle Andrew for looking after our rhinos so well. We will also ask Jesus to look after you in the same way. Love, B and N. xxx"

How sweet of Bianca and Nico MarkusF!

Of course small children will not understand things like this, unless it is explained to them properly. What a sad time we are living in! :(

For those who are not on facebook and there cannot see the latest update on Andrew's Support Group Page, link to in previous posts of mine:

Linda Gail Desmet posted to Andrew Desmet Support Group

Hi everyone... Just to let you know ... Doctors are planning to operate on Thursday ... Two procedures ... First one performed by plastic surgeon, will be to do either a skin graft or flap on sacral wound and the 2nd procedure performed by the general surgeon who will sew up andrew's intestines so that all works normally again and no more colostomy... That will be a great relief for him. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming...

 Our Heavenly Father Author of Life, Healer of Wounds, Source of Abundance, Unconditional Love and Mercy, please hold Andrew and his family, in the palm of Your hand and look at his skin graft or flap on wound more closely, examine it, heal it, strengthen the weak parts, reconnect the areas that are loose, mend it and make his intestines new again. Please direct, guide and Bless the hands, minds, eyes, and instruments of the team of professionals (Doctors), the anaesthesiologists, specialized nurses, medical attendants assigned to do the surgery on Thursday and every person that touches him. Invite them to focus their minds to the tasks at hand and make each one of them perform their assigned tasks O Lord perfectly and precisely attuned to Your Command as the Great Conductor, Divine Healer and Comforter. O Father and Comforter breathe love and peace to the family and love ones, that they may continue to feel your warmth and love on the day of surgery. Assure them that Andrew will be healed fast and soon as he will continue to serve you in the Ministry you called him to do for the proclamation of Christ's goodness, grace and mercy. We call on the Intercession of God our Father. We lift up our Prayers in the Name Jesus Christ and the Love of God. Amen.
