This post is being written with emotions running very high.

Would just like to commend the bravery of the rangers at Pretoriuskop.

Three poachers were shot dead between Phabeni and Pretoriuskop on Tuesday morning. Apparently the rangers heard shots that morning, discovered a trail of blood which led them onto the poachers. A shoot out ensued and all three were shot dead (torches, pangas and bloody axes were discovered on them) No rangers were injured. Unfortunately the rhino has still not been found

Since the beginning of the year, two rhinos have already been poached in Kruger.

Whats more concerning, is that the poaching is believed to be far worse in the North of the park, where it is easier to cross the border back into Mozambique

The rangers are reported to have received death threats, even to their cell phones

Thank you for informing us. I really hope there will one day be a way to stop these poachings. At least we have rangers who care and who were successfull this time to catch the poachers. Thanks to them!!!!
