This pic is of the interior of the old, circular, ablution block at Lower Sabie which is still in use. It will probably be changed beyond recognition in the upgrades they are doing there, and it could do with an upgrade, the baths and showers are very tatty, but hopefully they will retain the old atmosphere.

I remember it from the first time we visited Kruger in 1987, and as of March 2014 it was unchanged from our first visit.

The shop at Lower Sabie, in 1987, was in a room of the reception building. I remember buying a toothbrush there, and also a length of fabric, that beige impala lily and birds fabric which was regulation Kruger issue curtains and bedspreads at that time.

Thank you for posting this Kruger photo Chirinda :gflower: . I remember those impala lily and birds bedspreads and curtains :D . It was very Kruger - Kruger like having tea and a bush snack at the Tshokwane Tea Room :) before taking a slow drive along the Sabie River to see the elephants.
