Thank you all for this wonderful information and all the effort that went into this. It's much appreciated. We are very fortunate to have this knowledge from our members.

Slightly different angle , see the shadow cast on the reservoir by a tree - using a bit of imagination it appears it could resemble the kudu head - to the naked eye it appeared more realistic but unfortunately the camera did not see one of the horns in the same way .

This reminds me of a story:
I was camping in Crocodile Bridge December 2007. Two of my mates went on a sunset drive one morning (I didn't feel like waking up at sparrow's). They had a lady guide on the drive. Apparently during the drive they saw some kudu, and the guide launched into a long 'sermon' about how beautiful the kudu is, and its the most beautiful animal in the whole park. Thats why they put it on the books, the stickers, the mugs, the plates etc etc. Its much funnier when my mate tells the story, but its quite amusing nonetheless.

gmlsmit, thanks for the info (I should have picked your brain a bit more when we met earlier in the month)

An interesting read - especially the link off the bottom of the page.
