I would have taken time to read Wolhuters account at home tonight had you not posted this .

A special area for me , for historical reasons as well as having watched black rhino for a few minutes , unnoticed and in the open on foot very nearby .

anytime, i always find it odd how few people are aware of the impact of messers hamilton and wolhurter outside circles such as these.

Elephus, thank you taking the time to copy this most fascinating account of the very narrow escape from death.

I remember learning about it as a child at school and I have looked at the Lion skin many times at Hamilton Library. This account has given it new meaning and heigtened the awareness of just how miraculous his escape was.

I agree that the contribution of Hamilton and Wolhurter is sadly under appreciated. They had almost insumountable obstacles to overcome.
