Wild card or not?

Unread postby simben » Sat Jul 11, 2015 6:47 pm

Hello,

I am planning a trip to the Kruger National Park from the 10th of September untill the 16th of september with driving 4 full days in the park. We are a family of 3 adults.

My calculations are as follows:

Wild card

710 Rand (couple) + 435 Rand (individual for the 3th person) = 1145 Rand

Daily conservation fee

4 days x 3 adults x 264 rand = 3168 Rand

Is it right to say that the Wild cards would be a much cheaper option in my case?

Kind regards,
Simon

Hi Simon,

I guess you are not South African but an international visitor?
For international visitors the only type of wildcard available is a card valid for one year and free entry to all the SANparks. This type of wildcard will cost you for one person R 1770 and a couple R 2770. For a family (max 7 persons, max 2 adults) one has to pay R 3310
If you only going to stay in the Kruger NP for 4 nights it is cheaper to pay the daily conservation fee. If you are going to stay for a couple of more days or will visit one of the magnificent other Sanparks (or one of the game parks in Swaziland) as well a wildcard would be the more economic option.

Have a pleasant stay in the Kruger NP, you are going to like it!

Best regards,

Rob

Warm welcome to the forum Simon!

You seem to be calculating a local price structure for the wild card and an international one for the conservation fees?

Basically if you are a local, S.A citizen you will only pay R66 each per day conservation fee, 4 days = R792
if an overseas visitor then you pay R264 each per day. R3168
