Wild Card or Discounts for extended stays?

Unread postby morgandy » Sat Mar 03, 2012 12:46 am

Hi folks,

the links for the wild cards aren't working for me, so I cannot ready exactly how they are used, costs, etc.. I have not yet received an email back from SANParks yet either.

I will be at ADDO for close to a month, and just over a month in Kruger. Would the Wild Card give me discounts on the conservation fees? Can I on-line order one?

Any information would really be appreciated.

Thanks much...

Are you from outside SA? If you are getting a Wild Card for the length of time you're staying will definitely work out as better value for you. I think it works out as value for money after about 8 nights as an international visitor. Not sure on where the balance point is for a SA citizen but I suspect your best bet is the wild card.

Morgandy,

Wild Card Prices
Conservation fees

You would be much better getting a Wild Card. For Internation visitors Addo Conservation fees are R150.00 per Adult per Day (Kruger CFs are R192.00pppn), a Wild Card is R 1310.00. So as Gemma says you'd break even after 8 nights.

You buy online, print out the confirmation email and show it when you check into the parks. And that's all there is to it.

As an aside, please could you let me know which links you are trying to use that aren't working.

Rands or Credit Card can only be used to buy a Wildcard in SANParks.
Foreign currencies are not accepted for payment.

Thanks folks....if I purchase one when in Addo, will that cover Kruger as well, or do I need to stay the days, pay the fees, then purchase the card again?

thx much..

Morgandy, the Wild Card is valid for 12 months so the one you buy in Addo will cover you for Kruger.

If you buy in the Park you will just be given a payment slip as your card will be personalised and sent out at a later date. You will just show that payment slip at Kruger and that will cover your conservation fees.
