I think it also comes down to the person and what you want out of the Kruger Park .

Some people come to the park just to relax and dont even mind if they see much or not . They will come for 2 weeks and some days not even leave camp

Some drive on as many roads possible hoping someone else may see something and they can share . I heard of peole doing 80 kms an hour in the park to look for the traffic jams

The last type wants to actually spot their own sighting , this is the most rewarding experience in my book . This dictates the roads you choose as well

Many drive with their windows closed , even before it gets hot .

I am really surprised that the S100 has not come up - was supposedly the very best road for game.
I personally prefer the quieter roads in the north and especially the private roads to the bush camps like the S139 where only the residents are allowed to drive.
There is a view site on the S139 where one can alight from your vehicle, and sit on a bench high above the river bed, and just enjoy the peacefulness of the park.

Best road? The one less travelled....

True, I always see a lot of impala, hippos and a moosa lot of traffic nowadays.
It can also occasionally be good for the leeuverskrik (one dimentional lion chasers).

The road from Pafuri gate to the Pafuri picnic spot because it is so quiet and peaceful. Never seen much game but traffic is very sparse. Also the Mahonie loop. Had a wonderful sighting of wild dogs on this loop near the Coetzer (think it is the correct name) water hole.

The more I travel in Kruger, the more difficult it gets to single out a road... As it stands now (think I did 90% of them) it's a toss between the s52 from Shingwedzi to Bateleur, the s56 (Mphongolo loop, north of Shingwedzi towards Sirheni) or the whole of the s39 Timbavati road (few clicks before Orpen up Roodewal).

OK s56 Mphongolo loop wins, but it's safe to say: also the gravel roads near Shingwedzi

I cant pick one Any of the above on any day will put a smile on my dial!!

for me its definatly the S56 mphongolo loop near sirheni great drive always peaceful so you get to enjoy any sightings.

I enjoy the S99 Mahonie loop around Punda Maria and all roads immediately south of Balule.
