I just returned from a couple weeks in Kruger.

While I was in Satara there were a two cheetah that were always found on the H7 by the junction of the S36 and Timbavati road. Unfortunately, one of the cheetah was badly injured. One of his hind legs was injured and he was limping badly.

Does anyone have an update? Last I saw them was around Dec 1.

:yaya: Skywalker,

The Ratpack saw them in end of January sometime when we went out on a night drive. They are 2 brothers that walk or walked together but havent seem them or heard of them for some time now and Ive been there 7 times since. Would be nice to hear whether the 2 of them is still going strong.

We saw them exactly there as far back as 2006.

My hunch is that the 'well' brother will do the hunting and the 'sick' brother will either get better or sooner or later fall prey to something bigger if he cannot get away in time.

Hi skywalker, good to hear you are safe home. Unfortunately we didn't meet at the airport again. Can't tell you anything about the cheetah but I hope he's doing better soon
BTW I had some very good sightings during my last three days and I miss Kruger already...

Saw them at that exact spot on 13 Nov 2009, they lay under the same tree all day. The healthy one walked away a few times and it appeared that he was calling the injured one the whole time. After a while it would turn around and join it back under the tree!

Seen the same Cheetahs on the 11th of December on the H7 & S36 junction. Spent about 2 hours with them, the one stood up and walked abit but the injured one just layed in the same spot. I wonder if that Cheetah never had its brother with him, would he have survived? Because i guess the healthy Cheetah is doing all the hunting. :hmz:

4 weeks from mactheknife to Gunner seeing them. Looks like they have some sort of plan working!

Lol c'mon on now, its not that big

Like BB said, 4 weeks together in one area, probably plenty of food for the them without having to move around much.
