I really like to stay in this camp as the staff is always very friendly and helpful.The camp is also well looked after and everything is nice and clean.Would like to congratulate the staff on this outstanding team effort.

Fizzpop - I wonder if your comment on the proximityof the camp to the gate will not be addressed when the new bridge is built. I believe that the go ahead has been given for a joint Govt./Sanparks project (R30 million) for a new access bridge over the Crocodile River. I wonder if traffic will be allowed to continue using the causeway whilst the new bridge is under construction?

I have always found this to be a delightful little camp if one can obtain a cottage that does not look onto the riverbed. Unfotunately these are subject to a huge spotlight that comes on from the bank on the other side as well as a pump that goes through the night. If you ask for the rondavels immediately to the right of the camping ground this seems to be the best bet.

We have had brilliant sightings whilst staying at this camp - the best of all being no fewer than three wild dog kills - one in the Crocodile river bed to the left of the causeway in front of Elephant Walk, the other right outside the gate - the people were lining the fences it was so close to the gate and the third 4 km's down the road. Happy hunting grounds for us indeed along with all the other special sightings. This year we saw a Kori Bustard 2 km's from the gate and I have never seen them this far South so that was a first for us.

We had a lovely stay in Chalets 12&13.

I have to agree with Kobie Kruger who wrote in one of her books that the sun rises in the south and sets in the north @ Croc Bridge. Never before have I felt so confused...

Do yourself a favour and take note of this unexplained phenomenon.

does anyone know if bedding is supplied for the safari tents? trying to not buy a sleeping bag. Same applies to the accomodation on the wilderness trail; do SANParks supply bedding or do we need to bring?

CB is one of our favourate main camps in KNP. Bungalows do have 3 beds so they are a bit larger than for example in Satara. Mostly all of them hv a perimeter view, own kitchen with utensils and of course own braai. Camp itself is lovely, very green with sausage trees and others, Camp shop is good stocked for such a small camp and the roads around camp are highly big 7 area (we count cheetah and wild dog as well) and maybe you will be able to meet Duke.

Tents no 7 & 8 overlook the game area and when I stayed in no 7 in December, the only thing that disturbed me was the woodland kingfisher call.

Any advice which one of tents 1 - 6 have most privacy and least noise and light interference from outside park / traffic from camp petrol station ?

They are all facing each other in a half mooned shape. So it is half difficult to say which is the best. there are however two more tents alongside the fence next to the camping area, which has more privacy.

No 7 which I stayed in in December, and 8 which is closer to the game fence and has the better view.

Andrew, I agree with BB. No 7 & 8 is right next to the fence and they have a great open view into the felt. We saw amny came from those tents during the May '07 visit.

That's the nice thing about being a photographer! I have no doubt at all which way to turn.

The S25 of course, so with the sun behind you. That way you get good photos on both sides of the road. With the S28 only the photos on your left will be good, on the right you're shooting against the light....

Can anyone tell me the definition of "utensils" in CB Bungalows - do they include pots/pans and a kettle. We are going to be there end of March 2008 - can't wait! Thanks for the info on sightings
