Hey, Kwando. How's things?

Before I chuck my penny in... 1st tell me where (geographically speaking) you found the bird.

 So it is somewhere in the south-western part of Botswana, about an hour away from Selebi Phikwe (thanks for the pm, Kwando - general directions like above often would be enough).

I had the bird pegged before but I had to confirm with distribution. Your bird is a fawn-coloured lark.

Of the larks that one finds in that area only the Sabota and fawn-coloured larks have that eye-brow AND white streak below the eye. However, SL does not have that rich red in the wings.

Hi Michele ,
Looks like a fawn-coloured lark to me , and Kagalagadi should be within its distribution range as well.

Cheers
Jon

 I agree, Fawncoloured Lark. The Kgalagadi is actually a very good place to see them.

I would appreciate some help with the following ID…
My gut feeling is that it is a Fawn-coloured Lark…but in all the literature I have, it appears there should be at least a bit of streaking on the breast…which this bird does not have :?
