Two of my favourite animals in KNP (if lucky enough to see them) are the Roan Antelope and the Sable Antelope. Their respective Latin names are
Hippotragus equinus and Hippotragus niger - hence my chosen alias of Hippotragus!!

I am also a horse-lover, so I suppose the "Hippo" part is also appropriate.

I assume you are referring to the Hippo - as in Hippopotamus!

I'm not quite that size yet, but advancing years mean advancing waistline!!

I just hope I am nearly as good looking as the beautiful Hippotragus family of antelope, or even a well-bred horse. I'll leave the hippopotamus for now.

Trying to find a picture of the antelope for my profile thing.

Aha, Hipotragus, I was wondering about your alias...

Mine, well... blame my parents.

Nice one , Hippotragus: Roan and Sable are indeed majestic. I think Sable is my favourite of the three debated antelope with the most beautiful horns (sable, oryx, kudu).

Why would you want to change: it's YOU! And, if you could change, what would you change to?

@Hippotragus: Don't be sad. Here's a picture of this antelope. :)

Photo taken at Dortmund Zoo yesterday. In Germany we call them Pferdeantilope (Pferd = horse, Antilope = antelope).

Hi everybody I choose my beloved pet’s name Vlekkie, she is a black Maltese Poodle…………

The reason I choose her name is, when she sleeps and have a dream or something she makes a noise that sounds just like a zebra, we think she was one in her previous life…..

Alternatively it would have been Skapie – Lamb Image , it is my pet name for my Hubby!!!!!!

Contrary to what you might guess, "ribuck" isn't a kind of buck.

It's an old Australian slang word meaning "the real thing" or "the genuine article". Sometimes spelled "ryebuck".
