4th UK Meet - 12th September 2009

Are you sure I agreed to this? Yes I did, didn't I. And I wasn't even drinking.

So we thought we could hold this year's UK meet in Portsmouth, on the sunny south coast of England.

There's lots to see and do but I thought we could base ourselves in the Historic Dockyard and if there's time have a wander up the Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth's Millenium project (opened in 2005, time goes more slowly down here).

Then there's Gunwharf Quays for shopping and eating later on.

I thought I'd promote the idea now and gauge interest and perhaps give our European friends time to book flights... (Southampton airport is closest. Bournemouth is also close and Gatwick is manageable.)

So have a browse and let me know what you think...

I'm thinking about a weekend in September - kids will be back at school but clocks won't have gone back so we should have lots of light.

Count Hobbit and me in!
Looking forward to it - will it be a weekend?, because if so, please can I request that it is not the first weekend in Sept, as we have our youngest's 21st to contend with!

It's a busy year for us; one mashed ankle (falling over in the liquor store in Malelane - and that was before I'd had a drink!) , just got back from a couple of weeks hopping round the Kruger sporting airboot and crutches, booked to go again for 3 weeks July/August, UK Bird Fair in Rutland end of August, 21st celebrations (but he keeps breaking the :rtm: , so I might just :sniper: him before then!), Forum Meet Sept. Got to fit in a knee op at some point... Keep it coming!

Definitely a weekend, probably the Saturday.

And probably not the 1st weekend - I was thinking more about one of the middle 2.

And Dotty - :sniper: stop rubbing it in. It's not fair.

I'm going to say 12th September (2nd full weekend). If anyone has any strong objections to this let us all know as soon as possible.

Cheers

Zypresse, that's a real shame. Hope you didn't lose any money.

Me. I'll be there. Alone. SO will (probably) join later. There's a football match on.

Actually I am going to need numbers soon to be able to get group "discount" on tickets.

So, so far there's:
