We have visited KTP a few times but always in the drier, cooler winter months. Are thinking of planning a visit to see the rain and need to find out what month/s have the highest rainfall in KTP.

We went in January and experienced a couple of big storms - lots of wind and lots of rain. The road from Nossob to TR was like a river in parts. The nice thing was that it did not rain day after day - like in Etosha.

Yeah, in December, we had a good thunderstorm for Sunday lunch in Nossob. That afternoon there was a lot of surface water and we drove through a few 'puddles' of 100 metres or more on the road. Not for clean freaks with spotless silver 4x4s that just pick up kids from school :

Good news !
The first rains of the season fell over Nossob on Saturday (10/1/09) night . . . 46mm (near 2 inches) in all !
You can already see that there is a slight colour change arround the water hole and in the background on the WebCam . . . notice where the level of the water was.
With some good follow-up showers to come . . . this could be very promising for visiting in the winter months !
